Our approach
9 pairs of shoes are thrown in the trash every minute, 8 will end up in nature, incinerated or buried in the ground. So we created a circular model by offering our customers the chance to return their used Angarde to us free of charge for recycling.

Circularity is based on the idea that nothing should be thrown away, everything should be reused. Concretely, it all starts with the design of our models using recycled materials. We favor as many recycled materials as possible and sourced in Europe, to avoid producing new polluting materials (e.g. polyester) or to avoid promoting intensive agriculture (e.g. cotton).

Our recycling partner GEBETEX is a family business located in Normandy since 2015.
GEBETEX works with companies and associations and offers different services and products depending on the quality of the textiles received.
Sorting is done manually and follows two steps: first separate the textiles into different categories (second-hand clothing and household linen, leather goods and shoes, wiping cloth, etc.) then take everything carefully to redirect them to the best possible sector (second hand, rags for industry, fraying for recycled material, CSR). Throughout this sorting chain, the values dear to the company (respect for the environment and working conditions, industrial and financial solvency, traceability, etc.) are applied both internally and externally.

For several years, we have supported the NGO Surfrider Foundation Europe which fights daily to preserve the oceans from all forms of pollution. Thanks to 1% For The Planet, we donate 1% of our turnover to Surfrider every year, whether our results are good or bad. We also organize waste collections to protect the coastline alongside Surfrider: moments of conviviality with the team serving a great cause!
